Quality Assurance Technician
A Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for verifying the execution of Quality systems and processes. Many of these systems proactively ensure Quality of products and services produced by Operations personnel and vendors. The Technician will perform inspection of finished product, ingredients, and materials at all stages of processing (incoming, in process, and finished goods). Cooperates with other Quality Assurance Technicians and Operations personnel in a team effort to identify potential Quality issues, communicate them thoroughly, seek prompt resolution, and to verify resolution with follow-up.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree in a scientific discipline, and/or 5+ years of analytical/lab experience.
- Some food processing knowledge is helpful.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- Capable of learning and safely, accurately operating all equipment required for the position.
- Must be knowledgeable with the following computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Must be a capable baker.
- Ability to cooperate with others in a team effort to identify potential Quality issues, communicate them thoroughly, seek prompt resolution, and to verify resolution with follow-up. Ability to communicate in a thorough, articulate, and understandable manner so that issues are understood in full context.
- Grasps the concept of “root cause analysis” and uses it to investigate issues.
- Motivated with a sincere concern for Quality Assurance that translates into enthusiasm for completing the responsibilities of the job to the best of his/her ability.
- Ability to stand firm when insisting on Quality in spite of resistance from others.
- Maintains a positive, pro-Quality attitude while performing job responsibilities and while in contact with others.
- Ability to maintain accurate/legible records.
- Good math skills.
- Must have the ability to work the evening or night shift
